Giana Giacalone
Graduate Assistant - Leadership and Event Operations
As a returning second-year Graduate Assistant for Events & Leadership Development within St. John’s University Career Services, I am passionate about creating meaningful opportunities that support students throughout their college experience. In my role, I assist with career and leadership development programs and advise students participating in the Leadership Development Program (LDP). I also co-advise the National Society of Leadership & Success, supervise student workers, and collaborate with students, faculty, and staff across the university.
Alongside my work in Career Services, I am pursuing my Master of Arts in Speech-Language Pathology. My experiences in leadership, mentorship, clinical practice, and student engagement have strengthened my communication and interpersonal skills while reinforcing my passion for supporting others. My work in speech-language pathology has also deepened my appreciation for compassion and ensuring that every voice is heard. I carry these values into leadership development by creating an environment where individuals feel valued, recognizing individual strengths, and empowering students to use their voices with confidence.
