2026 York College Athletics Marketing Internship
York College Athletics is seeking energetic, responsible, organized and dedicated individuals to serve as student interns for the 2026 winter/spring seasons. As an intern, you will play a crucial role in the department’s gameday marketing efforts through the execution of promotional strategies for fan engagement and revenue generation. This internship offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a Division III college athletic department.
This position will assist in the coordination and execution of all varsity sporting contests with primary objectives dedicated to increasing attendance, improving atmosphere, sponsorship fulfillment, revenue generation and branding. Successful candidates will work closely with full-time staff to develop and execute initiatives that further enhance the fan and student-athlete experience of York College Athletics. College course credit is available depending on course requirements. Applicants must be enrolled in college to be considered for the internship. All majors will be considered. Below is a general job description for the internship:
- Assist with the execution of marketing plans for all 15 of York’s intercollegiate varsity sports
- Execute game day promotions, activities and game operations for home athletic events
- Aid in creating and executing promotional strategies
- Collaborate with leadership to enhance game day atmosphere
- Coordinate special events, promotions and special recognition events
- Take an active role with content collection and social media coordination
- Additional duties as assigned
Requirements & Expectations:
- Be engaging and outgoing with both large groups and individuals
- Have excellent writing and communication skills
- Ability to multi-task and meet deadlines
- Exceptional interpersonal skills, judgement, initiative, and attention to detail
- Experience with Adobe products are preferred, but not essential
- Average time commitment per week is 10-20 hours based on sport schedules
- Internship is unpaid
- Must be available to work nights and weekends
- Expected to work during winter and spring break
- Interns will report directly to the athletic director and associate AD of communications, and work closely with all marketing and athletics staff to gain hands-on experience
