Position Summary:

As a member of the Dental Department, we are hiring Dental Assistants who will play a pivotal role in the day-to-day operations of the team. Dental Assistants will provide chairside support to Pediatric and General Dentistry and allow for our Dentists to provide efficient, high quality care to patients. They are responsible for providing hands-on support and completing prep work so Dentists can complete the required tasks at maximum speed and efficiency.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED Required.
  • Dental Assistant Certificate required.
  • 0-1 years of related experience in a dental setting with four-handed dentistry preferred.
  • Bilingual Spanish/English required.
  • Knowledge of Dental Software and EHR (e.g. Dentrix), highly desired.
  • Ability to adhere to National Patient Safety Goals.

Key Duties:

  • Assists the Dentist with routine procedures.
  • Prepares treatment room and tray setups for dental provider.
  • Takes digital X-rays and impressions.
  • Orders dental supplies and maintains inventory.
  • Completes infection control sterilization of all equipment and instruments.
  • Schedules appointments and maintains reception area as required.
  • Distributes patient educational materials as needed.

Starting Compensation: Minimum $43,680 ($21.00) per year; Maximum $43,680 ($21.00) per year

Work Environment Type, Location, and Schedule:

We are hiring for our Peninsula Community Health Center located at 1967 Turnbull Ave, Bronx NY 10473. The work schedule for this location will be Monday – Friday 8:00am – 5:00pm.

We are also hiring for our School Based Health Centers – must be comfortable providing coverage in the Bronx and Queens. Schedule for this position will be Monday – Friday 8am-5pm.
