The Vincentian Family Internship – Communication Assistant
Fall 2026
Position Summary The Vincentian Family Office (VFO) seeks an enthusiastic and highly motivated university student who will provide organizational and technical support to the communication efforts of the Office. The Communications Assistant will be responsible for supporting strategies that advance our communication with diverse global audiences as well as strengthening our internal communication systems. Other tasks, such as the development of written materials for projects and reports, may be assigned based upon our organizational needs.
This position is designed for a student who wishes to work remotely and secure work scholarship funds for their educational expenses at a Vincentian college or university.
Essential Functions
1. Maintain and update the existing database and effectively use this database for communication efforts.
2. Conduct online research to support the institutional knowledge of the Vincentian Family as needed.
3. Communicate effectively and timely with members of the Vincentian Family to advance the efforts of the Office (using Zoom, WhatsApp, email, etc.).
4. Assist with implementing internal and external communication strategies and development.
5. Prepare presentations, reports, letters, etc. with appropriate graphics, table, charts, graphs, etc.
6. Serve as the lead person in creating a Vincentian Family Directory,
7. Assist with creating and posting social media and web content in coordination with the communications team.
8. Support Communications Team in managing SEO-friendly website content; suggest areas for improvement and appeal to Vincentian Family audiences.
9. Maintain weekly work log as directed.
10. Attend team meeting and administrative conferences as scheduled.
11. Assist with office and administrative work.
Qualifications
Education
1. Student must have completed at least one year of studies at the college or university from which they are applying. (A student need not be completing a course of study in communications as various programs of study will be accepted.)
2. Student must be enrolled in the college or university from which they are applying.
Skills
1. Strong writing and editing skills; ability to communicate clearly and effectively. Working knowledge of another language of value to the organization (such as French, Spanish, German) would be extremely beneficial.
2. Sensitivity to cultural differences and understanding of political and ethical issues in
3. assigned areas; ability to facilitate relationships between diverse parties. Excellent organization and time management skills, including ability to juggle multiple tasks and respond rapidly to new events priorities.
4. Detail oriented, self-motivated and comfortable working remotely 5. Excellence in the following software skills:

Supervision and Evaluation
1. The intern and the Executive Director of the Vincentian Family will establish clear objectives for defined work periods. The intern will maintain a weekly log of time spent and work accomplished.
2. A minimum of biweekly zoom meetings will be held between the intern and the Executive Director of the Vincentian Family Office to review progress and assimilation into The Vincentian Family Office
3. Written formal evaluations and follow-up conferences will be conducted at the midpoint and endpoint of every semester.
Start and Ending Dates/Hours of Employment
Start Date: September 1, 2026
End Date: April 30, 2027
The intern is expected to work 10 hours a week per his/her time discretion, but not to exceed more than 40 hours per month. Any change in this expectation can be addressed with the Executive Director. (Please note: only 1 hour a week can be attributed to meetings, phone calls, etc. with The Executive Director.)
Compensation
The intern will be compensated through a work scholarship program. This program enables the student to earn $25.00 per hour to be sent at the end of each semester to the partnering university for educational costs incurred by the student. Compensation must be used for tuition only.
Equipment, Software, Licenses
The intern is responsible for obtaining and maintaining the necessary equipment, software, and licenses to fulfill the work requirements.
