About Tumbleweed Ventures
Tumbleweed is the venture arm of Maxwell Social, a modern private club where tech meets culture. We invest in early-stage companies across consumer, CPG, AI, wellness and B2B. But we offer more than capital. Through Maxwell’s events, spaces and tastemaker network, we help founders get instant momentum. That includes launch parties, content shoots, community activations and ongoing support from our highly networked team.
We are generalists who lean into companies shaping culture and technology. Our edge is distribution and access. Founders work with us to launch products into the world with precision and heat.
This is a part-time opportunity to join a fast-moving venture platform that sits at the intersection of investing, brand building and cultural influence.
What You’ll Do
Investment Work
- Source and evaluate early-stage startups in CPG, AI, consumer and tech
- Conduct market research, map trends and help identify promising spaces and companies
- Build investment briefs, write internal notes and prepare memos
- Join founder pitch calls and summarize key insights
Financial and Analytical Support
- Support due diligence by analyzing financials and market comps
- Model ownership, dilution and basic scenarios for new investments
- Maintain hygiene of deal pipeline and CRM system
Portfolio and Platform
- Support founders with research and go to market strategy
- Help identify moments where Maxwell’s events and venues can be used to accelerate portfolio traction
- Track portfolio updates and prepare reports
You’re a Fit If You
- Are currently in school or recently graduated with a focus on finance, business, economics or data analysis
- Have strong financial modeling and research skills
- Are curious about startups, consumer brands and technology
- Communicate clearly and write well
- Are hungry to learn and thrive in fast-paced environments with little structure
- Are excited to build something new and contribute to a small team with big ambitions
Bonus if you have exposure to:
- Venture capital or private equity
- Early-stage startup ecosystems
- Creative industries like CPG, wellness, fashion or tech media
