The Conference & Partnerships Director will play a key role in organizing Innovate GBM’s flagship Brain Tumor Investment Conference, which brings together leading companies, investors, and institutions driving progress in glioblastoma and brain cancer innovation.
This position blends research, outreach, communications, and strategic engagement — offering exposure to biotechnology, venture capital, and nonprofit leadership at the intersection of healthcare and investment.
Responsibilities
Research and identify companies in the brain tumor and neuro-oncology ecosystem, including public and private biotech firms.
Conduct outreach to companies to invite them to participate in the conference (presenting, sponsoring, or attending).
Build targeted lists of investors specializing in oncology, neuroscience, or healthcare venture capital and contact them regarding conference participation.
Identify and connect with key opinion leaders (KOLs), including clinicians, scientists, and advocates in the brain tumor field.
Conduct outreach to clinical research organizations (CROs), law firms, accounting firms, nonprofits, and academic institutions that specialize in brain cancer or related fields.
Track outreach activity in a shared CRM or spreadsheet and follow up with potential participants and sponsors.
Support Innovate GBM’s executive team with scheduling, coordination, and communication for the conference.
Assist in creating and maintaining marketing materials, outreach templates, and data tracking sheets.
Qualifications
Currently pursuing or recently completed a bachelor’s degree in business, neuroscience, biology, public health, communications, or economics (or related field).
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Professional email and phone manner; comfortable reaching out to high-level executives and researchers.
Organized, detail-oriented, and self-motivated.
Interest in healthcare innovation, biotech, venture capital, or nonprofit management is a plus.
Proficiency in Google Workspace, Excel/Sheets, and CRM tools preferred.
